"Sports Fanaticism"

Like it or not, sports have become a part of our everyday life. For some it is a job, a hobby, or

a form of entertainment.

Sports has become a very important field of life. Nowadays, Sports differs greatly from the past. There are clubs, local teams and national teams. There are international competitions between several countries. We can say that the "environment of sports" has changed. One of the phenomenon noticed after this changes is what we call "Sports Fanaticism".

According to the dictionary, those who are “an enthusiastic devotee of a sport or diversion, usually as spectator rather than a participant are called fans.

Sports fans feel that they can maintain or boost their self-esteem by identifying with sport teams.

People are often swept up in the moment of a sporting event and lose their individuality and act as a group. For example, one group of fans may strike out against the opposing team’s fans and a riot may break out.

I think the main cause of roughness in the sports pitches is fanaticism, sports fanaticism. Some people think that defeat means the end of the world. They act as if sports matches were war battles.

Sports fanaticism is the result of forgetting the truth of Sports. People forgot that they play sports to know each other, to build our bodies and to acquire physical skills and spiritual values.

Both players and spectators should know this well. They should have the soul of sports. They have to be tolerant and accept defeat as we accept winning. Finally let’s apply the FIFA's slogan “Fair Play”
