Friendship plays a great role in our life. Without it we feel alienation in our countries, our life will be boring and unsafe .Moreover, it will be aimless because society can't develop unless its people love each other.

Friendship is the only way to achieve the aims we want. It is also the shield that protects our world from racial discrimination, terrorism, wars and violence. It is our hope to establish peace all over the world.

We hope to live in a world without wars, hatred, discrimination and terrorism. A world filled with tolerance, peace and love .We are sure that we can achieve a world of more peace and good understanding and this is the role of the youth and the peace lovers .

Here in Egypt we wish to communicate with other friends all over the world to share ideas and opinions of how to achieve good understanding among youth as a step to achieve good understanding among different countries.

We believe that the friendship through education project that our school take part in helps in achieving global friendship because when we know more about our customs, cultures and traditions will lead to a better future because we can know each other better and this will be better for the relationship and co-operation among our countries.

Friendship is our hope; let's work for it to enjoy a better world for us and the coming generations.

· How can you make a friend?

To make a friend we should first know the meaning of friendship, its rules, advantages and the negative qualities it may include.

As a concept it is an in-depth relationship which involves trust, support, understanding, loyalty, love and other aspects of life that all of us crave. But, it is mainly based on love because without love we can't achieve friendship.

Being able to trust our friends and relax with them is also a big rule of friendship. After we go out to the world of responsibility and work hard and have our ups and downs, our problems and triumphs, our fun and sadness, we go to your friend and be relieved.

To make a friend we should consider his interests as well as yours. So, in friendship we should always respect the feelings of others , we shouldn't act carelessly and selfishly and we must realize that the bases of being a friend are meeting the needs of our friends , learning how to sacrifice our desires for friendship and help our friends when they need us.

 

In regard of the importance of friends we should ask ourselves why we choose this friend or that, why we like to talk with this friend more than that?

Let's find the answer from these words……

When we look for a friend we must search for characteristics not for only a person.

When we talk about characteristics of the friend we have to think of the godliness at first because the godliness is the main way to all beautiful characteristics like honesty and chivalry.

When you have a chivalrous, honest friend you feel safety because you know that all your secrets are in honest hand and when you were in trouble you must trust your friend who will help you.

It will be better if you have a funny, lovely and cute friend it will be great.

We must avoid the selfish, spiteful and liar person because he will pull you under to hell.

From all what we said it became clear that we search for a sincere, honest, chivalrous, funny and lovely friend. .But, I think we should always be careful when we search for our friends.

Friendship in society

Man is in indispensable necessity for a group to

live where he can deal with the others to achieve their own aims and the big aim of the society which is its development. Friendship in any society is the first step on the way of establishing global friendship. So, the benefits of friendship in any society come clear in helping the poor and settling conflicts among its different groups. Friendship in a society is also important during hard times. We all share common feelings and work together to overcome any problem that faces the society. Friendship in a society is the best way to defeat hatred, fanaticism, intolerance and discrimination. We should love each other and feel the great danger of civil wars which can destroy the resources and the civilizations of any society.

Establishing friendship in a society defeats those who try to deceive the society and spread misunderstanding among its people. Friendship makes the society as if it was a wall whose bricks come together to form it's beautiful and strong final form. We are the bricks of the society and we should work together to establish friendship in our societies. Because when we do this we all become equal in all aspects of life. We also become responsible for doing our best to make our societies better, then peace and safe will be established and we can live happily and enjoy our live because we all have the right of enjoying a better and a better future with no wars or hatred for us and for our children after us.

 

Friendship is one of the bases of establishing global peace. Friendship among nations will end the suffering of people, decrease the number of refugees and give all countries an enough chance to develop and enjoy peace when wars stop and be exchanged by negotiations.

To establish the friendship among nations we should try to make countries talk with one another to explain their points of view and correct any wrong information as misunderstanding.

Another important thing is that rich countries and industrial countries should help developing countries to improve their economies or to help them during hard times like catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods, drought or starvations .Countries should cooperate to protect innocent citizens from wars and to defeat the conquering country so that peace could be established and all people have their rights.

It's sure that when we depend on dialogue not war we will avoid civilizations clash but we should also make new generations know each other better and we should also work under the directions of the united nations so that every thing could be organized and to avoid any troubles and let the international society decide who has the right during conflicts or wars.

The new global system which should be based on understanding the others well and co-operating to achieve the best for all countries which will be achieved through dialogue among civilizations.

One of our ways to spread friendship is "Youth Camps". Youth camps are very useful and important to make nice relations among the coming generations like love, peace and friendship.

Youth camps take place in different countries and governments take care of establishing these camps for two aims. The first aim is to teach the participants culture, traditions and costumes of their countries. The second aim which is more important is to spread friendship and love among the participants.

If you go to a camp you will see how it is important. You will stay in the hostel with your colleagues from different and religions and the program of the camp will make you love your colleagues because the most activities will depend on the team spirit not the individual spirit. You will sleep in one room, have breakfast on one table, take exercises in a team, play team games, and take lectures and conferences together.

In the camp you won't find an individual. But, you will find a team and these teams activities will make you love each other.

100 people participated in the questionnaire and here are the results.

99 % were for friendship and they think that friendship is important to our life.

100 % thought that friendship leads to peace.

They thought that the ideal friend should be honest, kind sincere, they can depend on him.

The advantages of friendship as they wrote were:

1-Establishing peace.

2- Knowing more about the others cultures.

3- Having friends from other countries.

4-Getting more experience and knowledge.

5-Correcting the wrong information that many people take about Arabs and Islam.

65 % preferred school friends.

20 %preferred pen friends.

10% preferred neighborhood friends.

3% choose other types.

2% preferred the friend that we think that he will be a nice friend because of his character.

40% have friends from other nationalities.

60%don't have friends abroad.

The ways of establishing friendship were:-

1-Communicating through the internet.

2-Friendship among schools.

3-Conferences.

4-Travelling abroad to know more about the others.

5-Exchangeing students among different schools all over the world.

Our life has been developing since Man first lived on our earth. Civilizations prospered and disappeared leaving us great heritage which led to the modern life we enjoy now. Because of that, we should work hard to establish peace and protect our world from any civilization clash.

Dialogue among civilizations is now very important because the misunderstanding that may take place because of the lack of knowledge about the others' customs, cultures, religions and traditions is really dangerous and needs to be removed because it may lead to war or terrorism caused by civilization clash.

In fact, the important question now is why does civilization clash threaten peace and safety?

The answer is that civilization clash means that civilizations on our planet will be in a bad situation because each of them will have a problem in being adapted to the world's new system which is based on good understanding and co-operation .So; they should know more about the others' civilizations so that they might do what is needed to achieve global peace.

How can we avoid civilization clash?

Dialogue among civilizations is the solution. Every civilization should explain its culture, points of view, plans for establishing peace and what does it think of establishing global friendship. Conferences are important too, when those who represent their civilizations meet and talk and correct wrong information about their cultures or religions hatred will be replaced by love, war by peace and force by negotiations and our world will enjoy a new life filled with peace it will also be protected by logic and understanding .

The U.N. has announced year 2001 as the year of "dialogue among civilizations".

The Iranian ambassador in the U.N. called for a conference in which students from different countries discuss particular topics such as human rights .He also answered their questions and this was a great chance for those students to know each other better and suggest new ideas about solving our world's problems. In fact, this is an excellent way for the dialogue among new civilizations.

Finally, what is the role of the youth to achieving the Global Friendship?

Certainly, the youth understand each other better than they understand the elders; they should talk and explain their points of view of how to solve international problems in order to avoid any misunderstanding and to achieve the Global friendship.

Education project

This project is one of the means of establishing friendship through new generations.

Schools from the U.S.A and Islamic countries are matched together in order to exchange knowledge and information. The aims of this project are correcting the misunderstanding that may take place after the tragic attacks on the U.S.A in September 11^th. American students will have the opportunities of learning more about Islam and Muslims, they can also know what they think of them and how can they give a correct idea about their country and to tell the world more about their culture, traditions, customs and methods of thinking. On the other hand, Muslim students will be able to correct wrong information that Americans may know about Islam and Arab countries. They will be able to explain that the Islam is the religion of peace and tolerance and that there is a great difference between Islam and terrorism.

They will be able to say that terrorism may exist in any country in the world. Another useful part of this project is that the American student will be able to know more about the civilization of the East, the beliefs of its people, their customs and traditions. So, both of the Americans and Muslims students will know each other better and deep friendship will take part in achieving the global friendship in future through new generations.

Students and new generations are our hope to establish global friendship. So; they should be given the chance of trying to do their best to achieve this aim.

Students from all countries, religions and cultures should work freely to lesson the gap among nations and cultures and to make each part explain his opinions and ideas.

This group of students will call the students from combatant countries for talking to avoid hatred and misunderstanding that may take place in future due to war. Students from combatant countries will be a great pressure on their government to stop wars and if they fail in that, they are already successful because they have one aim which is ending war.

Students unlimited will be a very good chance to establish friendship among new generations who will establish global friendship in future.

Friendship and cooperation are the only hope to save our world from wars and disasters.

We should believe in friendship then try to establish it in our societies because it will be the first step to establish friendship among nations which means global friendship.

New generations will be the means of establishing global friendship because they have the chance of talking and cooperating all over the world. They also have the chance of protecting this friendship when they will be elders as they are the leaders and the society of tomorrow which depends on friendship as a base in establishing the ideal society, governments should provide all facilities to achieve this aim.

We call all nations for trying to establishing peace and friendship to enjoy a better world for us and for the coming generations .We also call them for avoiding or negotiations instead of them to decrease the number of victims and refugees and to give those who have rights the chance of getting their rights back so that there won't be hatred or wars and all will enjoy peace and cooperate to establishing it.

Together we are better so let's work to establishing friendship.
